  1. Memphis East High School: Better Safe Than Sorry!

  2. The Memphis East High School’s HOSA Chapter decided commit to educating the community about Seat Belt Safety. Our purpose for choosing Seat Belt Safety to implement an awareness of increasing the use of safety belts within students in our schools, people in our neighborhood, and everyone in the community. The goal is to insure that the effectiveness of seat belt safety spreads across our community. A lot of the teens and teachers that attend school drive and most of them do not wear safety belts when driving. If your seat belt is not worn, health conditions may pursue. There are ways to increase seat belt use among adolescents and adults in the community.

After completing the first Unannounced Seat Belt check we realized that there was a large number of people who did not wear seatbelts; later on after a few more checks, posters around the school, and intercom announcements we witnessed first hand that our method was effective. We start seeing that more and more people wore seatbelts which was what we wanted. Various Activities

  4. Ms. Pamela Finnie from the campaign came to talk to the students of East High about the importance of seatbelt safety, and we showed her our displays around the school.

  6. Now HOSA, the students, the faculty, the parents, and everyone in the surrounding areas of Memphis East High School, and beyond are well aware of the consequences of not wearing a seat belt and are buckling up and arriving alive.
