Evolution. What is evolution?. Simply put, evolution is how organisms adapt to survive in their environment. Without adaptations, a species would die out relatively quickly. Insects grew wings because it was and still is beneficial to fly if they are small creatures.

What is evolution? • Simply put, evolution is how organisms adapt to survive in their environment. • Without adaptations, a species would die out relatively quickly. • Insects grew wings because it was and still is beneficial to fly if they are small creatures. • Evolution may be a theory but that does NOT make it incorrect. Theories are backed up with hard evidence, it is not just a random guess.

  3. Types of evolution • Evolution is usually divided into to categories. • They are micro evolution and macro evolution. • Micro evolution is changes in one lifetime or a few generations. • An example would be getting larger lungs. • Macro evolution is changes in thousands to millions of years. • An example would be becoming bipedal which means to walk on two feet.

  4. Why is evolution significant? • Evolution is a way to discover our past. • Evolution will not explain how the universe was created but how the organisms within it developed. • Evolution is a critical part of science and is true. • Many sources such as fossils prove that evolution is not a wild assertion.
