  3. Longitude • Long Ladder • Runs in N/S parallels around the globe • Prime Meridian in Greenwich, England • Up to 180 degrees in each direction

  4. Theme #2: Place!! • What’s it like there? • Stuff like: soil, animals, land, weather

  5. Theme #3: Human/Environment Interaction • Relationship between people and env. • Warm, sunny places- why might people live there?

  6. Human/Environment Interaction Continued • Cold places: why live there? • Any other examples?

  7. Theme #4: Movement • Why do people migrate? • Better land • Freedom • More money

  8. Theme #5: Region • Refers to general location • Midwest, Central Illinois Middle East, Southwest
