The Kissimmee Rice Dwelling is a thoughtfully designed two-story residential project encompassing a total of 4,418 square feet, with each floor measuring 2,209 square feet. This eco-friendly home utilizes recyclable cinder blocks, energy-efficient appliances, and incorporates skylights for natural light and heating. The layout emphasizes personal space with two common rooms and two kitchens to accommodate gatherings. Through this project, I gained comprehensive insights into the complexities of construction, including the significant costs associated with materials and labor.

IET 120 Construction Project Name:Kissimmee Rice
Dwelling • Number of Floors
Square Footage • Square footage of each floor • Level 1 and Level Two • 2,209 Each • Square footage total • Total 2,209x2 • 4,418
Building Materials • Cinder Blocks (recyclables) • Skylights (natural light and heat) • Energy efficient appliances (save electric and less water consumption)
Floor Plan Layout • I chose this layout because I thought that this would give each person plenty of personal space, plus two common room for gathering. And two kitchens so that everyone will have plenty of room.
Conclusion • I learned that building an establishment is a lot more work than just picking one out, and saying, “I want this one!” This has taught me that there is a lot of money in build supplies and laborers; and that labor is typically a lot more expensive then anything else in the house.
