  1. Objectives • Understand the process for becoming a Certified Healthy Campus. • Apply practical tips for completing CHC application. • Identify stakeholders who should be included in application process.

  2. Background • “Certified Healthy”Oklahoma began in 2003 to recognize businesses working to improve employee health.   • CHO added restaurants, schools, communities, and in 2011 campuses to the program.

  3. Why get certified? • Encourage healthy behaviors – students, employees, visitors • Recruiting tool – setting a good example • Separate your campus from others • Help create a healthier Oklahoma

Identify Stakeholders • Academics • Human Resources • Recreation/intramurals • Multicultural Affairs • Campus Safety/Police • Disability Services • Counseling Services • Health Services • Environmental Health & Safety • Tobacco Policy makers • Volunteer Services • Sustainability Services • Others?
