  2. The Purpose • A final performance assessment • Offers the graduate candidate the opportunity to demonstrate proficiency through authentic assessment. • Completed during your last semester.

  3. Essential Question • How has the program of study influenced your development as a reflective decision – maker who: • demonstrates leadership • is a competent professional • and facilitates learning for all students?

  4. In short….. How has your pedagogy and philosophy of education changed since your course of graduate study?

  5. What to present • 15 - 20 minute power point presentation. • Lecture • Posters, artifacts . . .what is important to you?

  6. Panel Evaluation • The CAR Panel may consist of some combination of the following: • An ASC faculty member from the relevant area of emphasis • Practicing administrator or teacher • Professor outside the area of emphasis • Every effort will be made to include an instructor from your course of study

  7. Panel Evaluation Criteria • The panel will look for evidence that may include, but are not limited to, the following: • Leadership • Facilitates learning for all students • Competent Professional

  8. How the Assessment is Based • The panel will evaluate your presentation by a rubric that will score you as: • Developing • Partially Proficient • Proficient • Advanced

  9. Then what? • After the candidate has completed the CAR exercises, they will be sent a letter informing them of their grade. • Graduation • A completed graduate application must be in your file at least one semester before you graduate. End of Presentation

  10. Internship • Applications are due one semester before your scheduled start date. • Is based upon credit hours • You will select a mentor to monitor, assist and document your progress. • A College Supervisor will be assigned by ASC. • The College Supervisor’s role will be your link to ensure all internship criteria are met.
