  3. 2013 Legislative Activity • In 2013, we visited and met with the following offices through out the year to keep them current on issues of concern to AICC: • Rep. Frank Pallone (D-NJ06) Rep. Mike Doyle (D-PA14) • Rep. Lee Terry (R-NE02) Rep. Joe Pitts (R-PA16) • Sen. Ron Johnson (R-WI) Sen. Bill Nelson (D-FL) • Sen. Kelly Ayotte (R-NH) Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) • Sen. Tim Scott (R-SC) (Late) Sen. Frank Lautenberg (NJ) • Sen. Claire McCaskill (D-MO) Sen. Richard Blumenthal (D-CO)

  4. 2014 Legislative Issues • FCC delays Spectrum Auctions by 6 months • Upcoming 2013 Budget Deal • Discussions among leadership about conducting further spectrum auctions, using the revenues to ease Sequestration • Alarm Monitoring Licensure • Continue educating leadership/policy makers on the need for a uniform inter-state licensure system.

  5. 2014 Legislative Issues (cont.) • Telecommunications Act Update • On December 3, Chairman Upton and Ranking Member Walden indicated the E&C Subcommittee on Communications and Technology will begin an effort to update the Communications Act, last updated in 1996. • The process will involve circulating a series of white papers inviting comments on how to better regulate the communications marketplace.
