  1. “Meeting of the Minds” Enlightenment Press Conference(15 Participation Points)

  2. Directions: In your table groups, research and report on one of the prominent Enlightenment philosophers. Step #1: In your groups, assign/choose the from the following roles: • Enlightenment Philosopher: researches and answers questions during the press conference • Press Advisor: lead researcher before press conference and “life line” during press conference • Art Director: coordinates/researches/creates POSTER to introduce philosopher and their major ideas and/or accomplishments • Investigative Reporter: research other philosophers and write 3 questions for each to possibly ask during press conference Grades are “mostly” individual and are based on the quality of in-class work and the performance during the actual Press Conference.

  3. Step #2: Use the information packet and outside material to research your assigned philosopher. Try to find out as much as possible about them and their influence on GOVERNMENT & SOCIETY. Step #3: Prep your philosopher. Try to anticipate some of the questions the press may ask. Step #4: Press Conference. Introduce philosopher, including poster, and answer questions from other groups. Due Date: Wednesday, 3/19 Extra Credit Opportunity!! +2 to team if your philosopher doesn’t need to meet with Press Advisor +1 to team if your question forces a meeting with Press Advisor
