  1. Romania Romaniais a country located at the intersection of Central and Southeastern Europe, bordering on the Black Sea. Romania shares a border with Hungary and Serbia to the west, Ukraine and Moldova to the northeast and east, and Bulgaria to the south. At 238,400 square kilometers (92,000 sq mi), Romania is the ninth largest country of the European Union by area, and has the seventh largest population of the European Union with over 19 million people. Its capital and largest city is Bucharest, the tenth largest city in the EU, with a population of around two million. The Carpathian Mountains dominate the centre of Romania, with 14 mountain ranges reaching above 2,000 m/6,600 ft, and the highest point at Moldoveanu Peak (2,544 m/8,346 ft). The Danube flows into the Black Sea within Romania's territory forming the Danube Delta, the second largest and best preserved delta in Europe 19.043.767 inhabitants

  2. Iaşi is one of the largest cities and a municipality in Romania. Located in the historical Moldavia region, Iaşi has traditionally been one of the leading centres of Romanian social, cultural, academic and artistic life. Known as The Cultural Capital of Romania, Iaşi is a symbol in Romanian history. The city was the capital Romania from 1916 to 1918.In Iaşi city there are 263.410 inhabitants.

Iasi – Cultural CityIn Iasi there are many cultural monuments and objectives that tourists can visit: Roznovanu Palace ( now the City Hall), The Metropolitan Church, The Palace of Culture, National Theater “Vasile Alecsandri” – the first national theater in Romania, Moldova Philarmonica, Cetatuia Monastery, “Trei Ierarhi” Monastery (Church of the Three Hierarchs), etc. The Palace of Culture The National Theatre

  4. In Iasi there are over 60 000 students enrolled in technical and theoretical universities . There are 4 public universities ( University of Medicine and Pharmacy, University of Veterinary Medicine and Agriculture, Technical University and Theoretical University) and 7 private. Here was founded and it still functions the first University in Romania, Alexandru Ioan Cuza University, one of the most prestigious academic institution in the country.
