  1. Mr. Muhammad Zuhaib O-Level( Grade 10 & 11) Physics, The City School, Darakhshan Campus Action Planfor September 2011

  2. Adopt 21st century teaching approaches and facilitate students learning for O-Level Physics. To promote sustainable development in students. To strengthen physics concepts in ways that are determined and sustained by CIE and other educational boards. Long-term Goals

  3. I will use my questioning skills to promote extended and critical thinking in my students. To examine students progress by taking their assessment . The students of Sr. I will be made to understand the techniques involved in the measurement of variety of physical quantities e.g. length, time, distance, speed, velocity and acceleration. I will work on my encouraging skills. Relationships built with students extended and consolidated by giving extrinsic rewards like certificates for their good work n suggestions on their areas of improvements. Short-term Goals

  4. Students of Sr. II will be given the knowledge through audio/visual aids that will help in better understanding of concepts being taught in current electricity. • Students of Sr. I will be shown videos relating to the concepts of kinematics. • to enable the students of Sr. II of attempt the past paper questions. • To assess the knowledge and understanding of students of Sr. II b taking an assessment at the end of topic. • To use multi-media and other teaching resources to incorporate IT in classroom teaching. Short-term Goals

  5. Kinematics (Sr. I) • DC Circuits (Sr. II) • Announcement of result (Sr. I) • Assignment (Sr. II) Kinematics (Sr. I). Current Electricity (Sr. II). Solution of worksheets and past papers using multi-media Sept. 5 - 9 Sept. 19 - 23 Sept. 26 - 30 Sept. 12 - 16 Monthly tests. (Sr. I) Kinematics (Sr. I). Current Electricity (Sr. II). • Display of concept videos (Sr.-I) • Assessments. (Sr. II) • Kinematics (Sr. I) • DC Circuits (Sr .II) Time line

  9. Solution to Anticipated Challenges Challenge # 1 • Shortage or unavailability of resources like books, lab apparatus, multimedia, IT lab. Solutions • Prior arrangements of resource before they are referred to students. • Use of laptops in class. • frequent home work assignments based on research through internet. • New and advanced equipments will be purchased for science lab.

  10. Solution to Anticipated Challenges Challenge # 2 • Noise control during activity based learning. Solutions • One of the member of each working group will be assigned the task to control noise level. • Activity will be planned keeping in mind the interest of students. • Marks reserved for discipline and work etiquettes.

  11. Solution to Anticipated Challenges Challenge # 4 • Class rooms not suitable for the use of multi-media and sound system and for conducting activity. Solutions • Requisitions will be given in advanced for the arrangement of activity in Board Room. • I will meet with administration first to get support and then I will go to the principal to explain what I am going to do and why I need that resource.

  12. Solution to Anticipated Challenges Challenge # 5 • There will might be some students who will not respond the way they are expected to or will show less interest in activities. Solutions • Extrinsic rewards like certificates, shields etc. will be given to participants and winners of competition. • Extra time will be spend with challenged students to keep them motivating and in flow of work.

  13. Fellow teachers in the campus who share the same grade and subject. IT-Lab, Science Lab and Library for research and practices. School’s Board-Room for multi-media presentations. 14. First of all, I would like to say Alhamdulillah (Thanks to Almighty Allah), for giving me the strength and health to carry out this Action Plan until it was done. I wish to express my thanks and appreciation to all the tutors of Intel® Teach Program Getting Started Course for enlightening me with demands of 21st Century teaching and providing me the useful guidance whenever and wherever it was needed. This action plan would have not been possible to conduct without the support of my section’s Headmistress Miss Samina Imran, Principal Miss Shireen Noor-uddin, Vice Principle Miss Arshi and school management who allowed me the access to school resources like Internet, books, computers and all that as my source to complete this action plan. My especial regard and thanks to Sir Omer, the ICT Coordinator of The City School Southern Region, whose provided guidelines came to work for most of the time and really made my job simpler & easier to plan my actions. And not to forgotten the contribution made by my students of both levels for making my plan successful. Acknowledgement

  15. The simplest and easiest way to improve our teaching is to remake ourselves. The hardest way to improve our teaching is to remake ourselves. Simple or complicated, hard or easy, we have to acquire a habit of keep reviewing our strategies and making sure that they are at par with this constantly changing world. Conclusion
