ESPON: Advancing European Spatial Planning for Sustainable Development

Since 2007, ESPON (European Observation Network for Territorial Development and Cohesion) focuses on monitoring and enhancing territorial development across Europe. With 31 member regions, it aims for balanced and sustainable spatial development through polycentric urban systems and equal access to resources. ESPON supports research initiatives and collaboration among European institutions to address key challenges such as climate change, energy efficiency, and socio-economic cohesion. This meeting includes presentations and discussions on ongoing projects related to spatial planning, accessibility, and environmental sustainability.
