Unit 1 Vocabulary. Angle. Two rays or line segments sharing a common endpoint. The angle is. Circle. the set of points on a plane at a certain distance, or radius, from a single point, the center. Perpendicular Line. Two lines are perpendicular if they intersect to form right angles.

  2. Angle • Two rays or line segments sharing a common endpoint. The angle is

  3. Circle • the set of points on a plane at a certain distance, or radius, from a single point, the center

  4. Perpendicular Line Two lines are perpendicular if they intersect to form right angles.

  5. Parallel Line Two lines are parallel if they lie in the same plane and do not intersect.

  6. Line Segment/Segment A line with two endpoints.

  7. Point Point A or Point B

  8. Line • is straight (no curves), • has no thickness, and  • extends in both directions without end (infinitely).

  9. Ray A part of a line that begins at a point and continues forever in one direction. Indicates a ray that begins at point A and continues in the direction of point B indefinitely.

  10. Vertex • The location at which two lines, line segments or rays intersect.

  11. Intersection • The point at which two or more lines intersect or cross.

  12. Bisector A point, line or line segment that divides a segment or angle into two equal parts.

  13. Right Angle

  14. Acute Angle

  15. Obtuse Angle
