  2. About Miss Snyder • Graduated from Nazareth High School in 2003 • Graduated from Moravian College in 2008 • Certified Elementary Education (K-6) and Middle School Math (7-9) • Fifth year working for NASD • Second year teaching at NAIS • Jump Start & Camp Invention Instructor

Homeroom Housekeeping • Assignments, assessments, and school news are updated on my TeacherWeb page • Students must have a three-ring binder, folder, and composition book for Math and Science • Students must hand in a note for parent pick-up or changes in their dismissal schedule • Please call the office if your child’s dismissal has changed and a note wasn’t sent in prior

Homeroom Housekeeping Cont. • Lunch money must be in an envelope with the student’s name, student number, and grade • Healthy snacks and water are permitted during class, but please no nuts! • Birthday baskets are available through the cafeteria, no store bought or homemade treats are allowed to be brought in • Friday folders

SWPBS – Positive Behavior Plan • Nazzy Traits • Respectful • Responsible • Capable • Caring • Nazzy Coins • Students will earn Nazzy Coins when they demonstrate their Nazzy Traits • Nazzy Coins can be spent at the Nazzy Trading Post for goodies • Nazzy Coins must be punched; old coins can be traded in

  6. enVision Math • Textbook accessible through www.pearsonsuccessnet.com • Login: Student # • Password: Student18064! • Tests contain multiple choice & open-ended questions • All tests are out of 30 points. Tests will have 1 grade that is compared to a rubric in order to score a 4, 3, 2, or 1 • Math Fact Fluency is VERY important! If your child is struggling with ( +, -, x, or ÷) please practice for a few minutes each night • Concepts covered in 5th grade Math

Science Testing • Tests are set up: • 20% Level 1 - Recall • 30% Level 2 - Skills and Concepts • 30% Level 3 - Strategic Thinking • 20% Level 4 – Extended Thinking • Tests will be given over 2 days: • Day 1 – Extended Thinking (Level 4 OE Questions) • Day 2 – Fill in the Blank/MC (Level 1-3 Questions)

Science Testing Cont. • The test questions are designed with question complexity to help the students practice and prepare for the Common Core Standards. • 1st test will be open book to help the students learn how to take apart the questions and answer them to the best of their ability • Concepts covered in 5th grade Science
