  3. Alisa’s Background • Alisa mean:a wonderland • Conceived:1991 • Founder:Svetlana Mischenko • Place:Ukraine • Mission:social and economic rehabilitation of people with disabilities • Do what:offer vocational training programs with the intention of training people with disabilities.

  5. About Svetlana Mischenko • Teacher of Ukraine College ,Economic College • My children were both quiet and I got bored, so I started the organization

  6. Social Enterprise • Alisa Society's Mission: To protect the rights and interests of people with disabilities • "Find extraordinary people with extraordinary ideas and have them implement their ideas. Visionaries will find unique strategies to achieve business goals."

CAP Social Enterprise Program • Counterpart Alliance for Partnership (CAP) • Provide manager with skills and expertise to develop their social enterprises • Before Alias enter CAP’s Social Enterprise program • “It’s true that many NGO leaders are not business entrepreneurs, and we had to learn as we went along. We often felt like we were stumbling in the dark.”

  10. Mischenko’s Dream • Enterprise is a hotel in Kiev where disabled people from around the world can stay • Increase public access for the disabled • Plan to replicate her handicap access toilet prototype throughout Ukraine
