Has society become to tolerant of drinking? • Introduction: • Binge drinking: young people don’t get punished • Commercials on TV • Less parental control • Main Body: • YES: celebrities are drinking, too (David Hasselhoff, Paris Hilton) • Stress => tolerance => drinking • Less prevention • Easy access to alcoholic beverages

What do you think? • Introduction: • Buddies, dude, homies => a lot of expressions for „friend“ => important concept in a society that is influenced by consumerism • Main Body: • You can rely on friends • Human beings are “social animals” • Friends are VIPs: even Aristotle knew that some two thousand years ago

  3. Violence at schools has increased over the last few years. Write an article for a quality paper in which you analyse the causes and effects of this development. • Introduction: • Mobbing: Verbal abuse/ physical abuse • Physical violence • Main Body: • Cyber mobbing (easy, anonymous) • Computer games/ media/ TV: early contact with violence • Too many students in one class • Need more control: Learn how to defend oneself

Can or should people be forced to adopt a healthy lifestyle. • Introduction: • Alcohol, obesity in our society, higher health care costs • Main Body: • Nobody can be forced (no legal ground/ constitution) • BUT: people should be offered possibilities to change their lifestyle (sports programs, Weights Watchers)
