Peter, the apostle, is first found in Scripture in the Gospels Matthew 4:18 Now as Jesus was walking by the Sea of Galilee, He saw two brothers, Simon who was called Peter, and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea; for they were fishermen. --- 4:22 Mark 3:13-19, Luke 5:1-11, John 1:35-43 Also a leading figure in the early church Acts 2:14 But Peter, taking his stand with the eleven, raised his voice and declared to them: "Men of Judea and all you who live in Jerusalem, let this be known to you and give heed to my words.

  10. 1 Peter 1:1c-2 1c who are chosen 2  according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, by the sanctifying work of the Spirit, to obey Jesus Christ and be sprinkled with His blood: May grace and peace be yours in the fullest measure. This passage shows the work of the Trinity in the salvation of mankind God the Father is the initiator God the Holy Spirit is the sanctifier God the Son is the provider
