  2. Functions of the Skeleton • The Skeleton is a framework of bones that is held together by ligaments and joints.

  3. The skeletal system The skeleton does 3 jobs: • It gives the body SHAPE • It allows the body to MOVE • It PROTECTS the major organs • Bone marrow produces red and white blood cells
