  1. Medical treatments for snoring

  2. About Snoring During sleep, the throat relaxes and creates an interruption to the flow of air through the passages at the back of the mouth and nose. This obstruction to the flow of air creates turbulent air flow leading to a vibration in the soft tissue at the back of the nose and throat. Snoring is the sound generated from this vibration. At SSI we provide non-surgical approved and proven appliances which help improve the airflow and breathing at night. You are not alone! In fact about 30-40% of adults are habitual snorers. Problem snoring is more frequent in men, those who are overweight and it often worsens with age.

  3. Bedtime remedies to stop snoring Sleeping on your side as opposed of your back: If you attach a tennis ball to the back of a pyjama top or T-shirt, when you roll over onto your back, the discomfort caused by the tennis ball will cause you to turn back onto your side again. Alternatively, you can utilise a pillow stuffed with tennis balls behind your back. After a period of time, this sleeping posture will become a habit.

  4. WAYS TO STOP SNORING WITH CPAP CPAP devices are vital to ensure the success of your sleep therapy. The masks employed in CPAP help to eliminate or greatly reduce the effect of snoring and other associated breathing problems that comes with sleep apnea. However, if you are experiencing snoring while wearing your CPAP mask, it is an indication that something could be wrong.

  5. Quit smoking If you are a smoker, chances of snoring are high. Smoking causes irritation to the membranes in the nose and throat which can effectively block off the airways and cause snoring. While quitting is easier said than done, it can help with a snoring relief.

  6. Lose weighting Losing some weight always comes with its benefits and even a little bit of weight loss can reduce the build-up of fatty tissue in the back of the throat and thus decreasing, or even stopping, snoring.

  7. Sleep Apnea Millions of people around the globe suffer from snoring when they sleep. While half of them just are “simple snorer’s” or primary snorers, the others may have a serious sleep disorder called the “Obstructive Sleep Apnea” or OSA. These two conditions are often very inaccurately used interchangeably and also incorrectly treated as a result.
