Project Goal Statement • To improve access for local produce for Phoenix House of Keene Residents by: • Beginning a local garden that participants utilize for produce and gardening experience • Providing on-site nutrition and culinary education related to the garden produce
Outcome 1 • Will partner with Community Garden Connections to set up Phoenix House garden site
Evaluation Plan • % of PH participants having access to local fresh produce increases • PH residents will learn and improve gardening skills
Outcome #2 • Increase program participants knowledge of how to use the fruits and vegetables harvested from community garden
Outcome 2 Evaluation plan • Increase participants knowledge of how to maintain garden space • Demonstrate cooking concepts of fresh produce • Fill out written evaluatoin
Budget • Transportation: Weekly trips from PH to Keene Housing Authority and back • Cost of purchasing a van: ~$13,000 used dealership in New Hampshire plus maintenance and upkeep of the vehicle • Salaries for additional staff: • Wellness Coordinator • Local farmer • TOTAL: $30,000
