  3. Composite groups • Three types • Union • Intersection • Complement • To make a new composite group, the left group and right group must be in your Group workspace.

  4. Composite groups (continued) • To convert an ordinary group into a composite group: • Add the left and right groups into your Group workspace. • Click on the “Manage members” link. • Click on the “Create composite group” link. • If the group has direct members, they will be removed. • Select the left group, right group, and composite type.

  5. Group types Groups can have group types associated with them allowing the groups to have additional capabilities. Some built-in group types facilitate in creating other groups to make the group easier to manage. Other group types allow attributes to be added to the group.

  6. addIncludeExclude group type • Built-in group type; not enabled by default. • Facilities in creating include and exclude groups. • Click on “Edit group” to add group types. • Example: • Staff • Staff excludes • Staff includes • Staff system of record • Staff system of record and includes

Attributes • As of Grouper 2.1, there are 2 different attribute frameworks. • The newer attribute framework cannot be managed in the Admin UI. • The older attribute framework can be managed in the Admin UI. • After adding a group type with attributes associated with it to a group, you will see an “Edit attributes” link.

  8. Audit log If you have the ADMIN privilege on a group, you can view its audit log. Click on the “Audit log” link. You can filter by date and sort.
