  14. Understanding theMeasurement System 1 • 1,000 Kb = ____ Mb 500 Kb = ____ Mb • 1,000 Mb = ____ Gb 500 Mb = ____ Gb • 1,000 Gb = ____ Tb 500 Gb = ____ Tb ½ 1 ½ 1 ½

  15. Appreciating Storage • If a person were typing 1 letter (1 byte of storage) per second, how long would it take to complete the following? • 1 Kb? • 1 Mb? • 1 Gb? • 1 Tb? (new system)

  16. Appreciating Storage I am typing 1 letter every second. • 1 Kb = 16.67 minutes • 1 Mb = 11.57 days • 1 Gb = 18.23 years • 1 Tb = 18,226.88 years

  17. Creating a Desktop Folder • Where do downloaded files go? • Left-click: Download folder. • Right-click: Specify a location, such as a personal folder on the desktop, a stick, or cloud storage (such as DropBox). • Create a personal folder on the desktop: • Find a blank area on the desktop. • Right-click and select new—folder.
