This exploration of 1960s architecture, based on interviews with experts, reveals a profound shift in residential design and social dynamics. Wealthy families fled urban centers, leading to sprawling suburbs with individualized houses. While poorer residents remained in the city due to financial constraints, a new residential landscape emerged featuring tall buildings with compact apartments. The post-war prosperity influenced personal and architectural independence, fostering a trend toward larger, modern living spaces. Sustainability and a return to community-focused designs are among the contemporary priorities redefining home aesthetics and functionality.
