Hebrews 11:31 – in the lists of the hall of fame of faith • 3. James 2:25 – she is listed as one who was made right with God with her faith that works • Find out how God sees her heart – full of fear but willing to risk her life for God’s agenda.

  8. Life Series: UnconventionalJoshua 2:1-24 • II. She Scarletly Shines • v. 17 : “keep the scarlet chord shining in the window!” • It might be suspicious that you let us escape by this cord and that you might be risking your life, but that’s the only sign that we can assure that you’re keeping your promise. Swear to us!

  9. Life Series: UnconventionalJoshua 2:1-24 • II. She Scarletly Shines • v. 18-19 : share this good news into your family! your house will be a house of the saves!

  10. Life Series: UnconventionalJoshua 2:1-24 • II. She Scarletly Shines • v. 20 : “I swear according to your words!”

  11. Life Series: UnconventionalJoshua 2:1-24 • II. She Scarletly Shines • v. 22 : 3 days reminded me again of Christ on the cross, 3 days on the grave… and Him rising to save the world!

  12. Life Series: UnconventionalJoshua 2:1-24 Charles Spurgeon says, “Rahab was taken up from the house of shame and wound up in the hall of fame. She was transformed from being a woman that she used to be into a woman that God wants her to be. After the war, she married a Prince of Judah- Salmon from her born Boaz- the great guard Father of David, the lineage of Jesus! This again shows us how God dealt with another sinful, shameful, wicked person (based on the human perspectives).”

  13. Life Series: UnconventionalJoshua 2:1-24 The grace and favor shines to those who are victims of sins: Hagar and Ishmael – victim of Sarah’s impatience to the “promised son” Jacob – a victim of her mother’s dream Rahab – a victim of bad culture and bad circumstances

  14. Life Series: UnconventionalJoshua 2:1-24 Rahab one of those in the hall of fame of faith God did not go around referring to Moses as a murderer, Abraham as a liar, David as an executor and adulterer. But when God called her, Rahab labeled her as a harlot. Why? God unconventionally call her that name for she has been made known!

  15. Life Series: UnconventionalJoshua 2:1-24 I can imagine that Rahab had given up hope of ever turning her life around but God has His own agenda. He turned her shame into glory in one shinning moment of redemption!

  16. Life Series: UnconventionalJoshua 2:1-24 This tells us that God can… …take our bad yesterdays and turn them into better tomorrows …take a mess, a storm, a battle, a trial, a loser and turn them into glorious miracles that give Him glory and honor …break our bondage from sin!

  17. Life Series: UnconventionalJoshua 2:1-24 This is God telling us that our past doesn’t have to control our future!
