Cell Phone Jail • I’ll give you your number… REMEMBER IT • Make sure your phone is on silent • Put it in your respective number when you come in • Make sure you remember it on your way out • If I see you with it during class… I get to keep it. • Don’t have a cell phone? That’s totally fine! Don’t worry about it  You’ll still have a number though. Just tell me after class so I can make a note.

  3. Cell Hierarchy • Smallest to largest

  4. Tissues • Group of similar cells that perform the same function • Four main types: • Muscle • Nervous • Connective • Epithelial • Can anyone tell me what each of these do?

  11. Joints • Two main types • Immovable • Movable • Immovable Joints: • Can’t move • Example: Skull bones

  12. Types of Movable Joints • Movable joints are held together by ligamentswhich are made of connective tissue • 4 Types • Hinge • Ball and Socket • Gliding • Pivot

  13. Hinge Joints • Forward and backwards motion • Think of a door • What are some examples? • Elbow • Knee

  14. Ball and Socket Joint • Greatest range of motion • Move in circles • Examples? • Shoulder • Hip

  15. Difference between ball & socket joint and hinge joint?

  16. Gliding Joint • One bone slides over the other • Examples: • Ankle • Wrist

  17. Pivot Joint • Allows one bone to rotate around the other • Example: • Neck
