Problem Statement • It has been observed that there is a current need for a fold-away attachable keyboard and mouse combination for office chairs. • Currently, several designs for attachable keyboards have received patents, but none include a fold-away feature, which would add to the workplace efficiency. • A fold-away attachable keyboard would improve comfort and efficiency while minimizing back pain.
Problem Statement • The goal of this project is to create a stable keyboard mount for an office chair that can be easily attached, extended for use, and folded out of the way.
Design Partition • Attach keyboard mount to chair • Designed attachment mechanism must allow for the keyboard to easily mount to an office chair. • Fold-away system • User must be able to extend and put away keyboard with one hand • Adjustable height and length from user • Should be able to adjust the distance from the user and the height of the keyboard while maintaining rigidity • Stability in use • Keyboard should be able to support weight of hands and force from typing without loss in stability
