5. These are the three parts of the WorkKeys system:
Job Profiling to determine the foundational skills necessary for a particular job. ACT trains people to become certified Job Profilers. These profilers then may contract out with employers to perform WorkKeys job profiles. The Alaska Department of Labor now has a trained WorkKeys Profiler on staff.
Assessments to determine the skill levels of an examinee (student, job-seeker, employee, etc.) These are the ACT WorkKeys assessments.
Education and training to fill in any skill gaps. This piece is NOT provided by ACT, but by an independent company called KeyTrain. The state has paid for a site license for all public schools and job centers to use the KeyTrain/Career Ready 101 instructional tool. These are the three parts of the WorkKeys system:

6. This is an example of the WorkKeys system.
Step 1. A job is profiled and yields the WorkKeys levels that are needed. In this example, this particular job requires WorkKeys Reading Level 4, WorkKeys Applied Math Level 5, and WorkKeys Locating Information Level 3.
Step 2. A person takes the WorkKeys assessments to determine his/her skill levels. In this example, this person demonstrated skills at WorkKeys Level 3 in Reading, 4 in Math, and 3 in Locating.
Step 3. Compare the skills needed for the job to the skills the person has. In this case, the person is one level short in Reading and Math. He/she needs to use the instructional courseware to raise his/her skills in those two areas in order to meet the required skill levels for that job. This is an example of the WorkKeys system.

7. This is what an Alaskan National Career Readiness Certificate (NCRC) looks like on the front.
These certificates are nationally recognized because they are based on the WorkKeys assessments. The NCRC is only based on the three WorkKeys areas of Reading, Math, and Locating Information because those are the three core areas of skills that are required in about 90% of the job profiles that have been performed to date.
Note on the bottom there is a registration number. This is a unique number assigned by ACT to each CRC. This number would allow an employer to verify that this person does indeed have a CRC.
There are four levels of CRC: Platinum (scores of at least 6 on all three tests); Gold (scores of at least 5 on all three tests); Silver (scores of at least 4 on all three tests); and Bronze (scores of at least 3 on all three tests). Example, if a person scores a 5 in Reading, 4 in Locating, and 3 in Math, he/she will earn a Bronze CRC.This is what an Alaskan National Career Readiness Certificate (NCRC) looks like on the front.

8. This is what the back of the CRC looks like. It lists the skills demonstrated by the CRC-holder.
This example is a Gold CRC; therefore, it lists the skills at level 3, 4, and 5 for each skill area.
A Platinum would list level, 3, 4, 5, and 6 skills; a Silver CRC would only list level 3 and 4 skills; a Bronze CRC would only list level 3 skills. This is what the back of the CRC looks like. It lists the skills demonstrated by the CRC-holder.
