Transfer management of Barracks to the Director of Public Works or equivalent. • Many Installation’s provide barracks assignment to UPH through a focused effort by either a civilian or military work force. • Single Soldiers would in-process the same as Soldiers with Families.   3. Centralized Barracks Management • The Secretary of the Army (SA) has approved a Holistic Barracks Strategy • Within the strategy the SA approved directing CBM and Focus sustainment estimated $260 million starting FY06

  4. Centralized Barracks Management • Test the effectiveness of the concept on a large scale with a war-fighting/deployable unit (4ID pilot program) • Results of the pilot at Fort Hood and lessons learned from other installations who do CBM are being tabulated an will be included in the development for implementation worldwide

  5. Centralized Barracks Management Focus of CBM • Fenced sustainment • Create an Installation champion for barracks issues • Assign and terminate rooms with an effort of maintaining a sense of unit integrity • Ensures accountability

  6. Centralized Barracks Management • Identify, order, plan and track requirements maintenance • Increase accountability in collecting for damages beyond non-fair wear and tear. • Control issuance of certificates of non-availabity to maximize utilization.
