The GOES One-Hour Winds Product aims to improve atmospheric wind vector data for operational forecasting. Following successful testing by the AWIPS Development team from April 22-26, 2013, the product's operational implementation faced initial delays due to detected date and time stamp issues, which were resolved by NESDIS. NCEP/EMC has submitted a request for the operational ingestion of this product, with anticipated completion in December 2013. Ongoing coordination with NESDIS is planned to ensure seamless integration as an operationally generated product.
