  2. Richard Sweeney Richis University Librarian, at New Jersey Institute of Technology, Newark, NJ. Rich previously served as Dean of Libraries at Polytechnic University, Brooklyn, NY. and Executive Director of the Columbus Metropolitan Library - Columbus, OH. He is a frequent presenter and consultant.

Aaron Cohen • Principal Library Consultant and Architect, Aaron Cohen Associates • Aaron is a consultant, workshop presenter, respected author on library topics, a registered architect (seven states and Washington, D.C.), a twenty-year member of the American Library Association, and a member of the American Institute of Architects.

  4. Larry Corbus • Library Management Consultant, Corbus Library Consultants • Larry Corbus Consultants is a widely known and respected company that specializes in public library director searches such as the Pikes Peak Library District and in library advancement and library referendums. Mr. Corbus also has had previous experience in the administration of public libraries.

  5. Marta Deyrup • Associate Professor, Seton Hall University Libraries • Marta is Associate Professor/Catalog Coordinator at Seton Hall University Libraries and subject specialist to many university departments. She has served as a consultant to the Library of the Academy of Sciences in Beijing, China and as a Fulbright scholar at the Insitut Marocain de l'information scientifique et technique in Rabat, Morocco. The author of numerous articles, Deyrup is currently the editor of Library Administration & Management.

  6. Judy Luther • President and Founder, Informed Strategies Inc. • Judy has more than 30 years experience in the information industry as a librarian, author, publisher and vendor. She created Informed Strategies in 1997 to support publishers and vendors in developing and delivering customer oriented electronic products/services as well assisting organizations in rethinking and defining their market strategies and generating new product ideas.

  10. AGENDA • 8:50am Who are the Millennials? • What does the research say about them? (Millennials are not present.) Speaker: Rich Sweeney Note: Larry Corbus will distribute and collect questions on index cards throughout the day. • 9:50am Break • 10:05amMillennial Introductions and Description of the Recruitment Process: • Speaker: Marta Deyrup will meet and escort the Millennials and conduct the introductions, explain to them the expectations for the day and give a brief description of how and why they were selected..

  11. AGENDA • 10:30am Live Millennial Focus Group: What Buildings\ Spaces do Millennials Like and Dislike?Images of libraries and spaces will be shown to Millennials for their reactions. Aaron Cohen, Richard Sweeney and panel. Audience questions & answers will follow. • Noon Live Millennial Focus Group: Will Millennials politically support libraries?Tax levies? Are there any conditions for their support of libraries? Speaker: Larry Corbus and panelists • 12:30pm Lunch with the Millennials sponsored by Holzheimer Bolek Architects, LLC.Each table will have at least one Millennial join them for further discussion.

AGENDA • 1:30pm Last Live Millennial Focus Group:Audience Interaction on Library Services and Buildings • The audience will have the opportunity to interact with the Millennial panel and seek reactions on their ideas for library plans and services. Everyone will have an opportunity for feedback. Marta Deyrup, Larry Corbus and Rich Sweeney will organize and conduct this session. • 2:40pm Break (Millennial panel is excused)

  13. AGENDA • 3:00pm • What Library Services and Buildings Might be Designed Differently? • What have we learned from and about the Millennials? Millennial author Judy Luther will ask the audience what they learned compared to what they expected and will summarize what she heard throughout the day. • 4:00pm Adjournment
