AVID is a class that helps students focus on getting into college. This year we will look at options for students to improve their opportunities to include trade schools, and various other career options as well as college. AVID=Advancement Via Individual Determination
AVID details • All work will be done and/or written in class and AVID homework will be RARE. • Students will work on organization of all school work as part of their grade • Students may have an opportunity to receive peer tutoring on scheduled days in class. • 1st Quarter will focus on High school program scheduling for the various academies throughout the district. • Field trips may be planned for 3rd and 4th quarters.
Grading Policy • The class grade is based on active participation in all aspects of this class. • All assignments are graded on a point scale. • All work is required to be completed. • There is no extra credit given in class. • Late work will only be accepted within two days for credit. Late work is half credit. • Make-up work is the responsibility of the student to retrieve from the Make-up binder in class.
