Its unique selling point (USP). • Which specific user group are the different pitches aimed at? • Why do you think this? What evidence is there for this? • Which pitch do you think is most effective? Why? • What techniques are used and why?

  3. What makes an effective pitch? • Clear. • Not too long. • Key points emphasised. • Something unusual or memorable. • Correct targeting, e.g. at the user group. • All information needed.

Top Tips for producing a pitch • Keep it short - Your pitch should not be longer than 3 minutes. • Have a structure - If you want to get your point across you need to structure your pitch properly. Try thinking about what you want to say and ordering it into these categories: introduction, presenting your idea, selling your idea. • You are the presenter! - Keep the pitch lively and engage your audience. You don’t have to use any props, but try to keep your tone of voice exciting and fun. Have a look at your favourite presenters on television. Why do you like them? What makes their presentation style good to watch? • Your props - If you use any props, they should have a purpose, e.g. music, singing, drums, sound effects. • Sell it to them! - Sell your idea. Tell the audience why they need your product or idea. Find one strong argument to convince them then sell, sell, sell! • Make it fun! Most of all, have fun and be creative with your pitch. Make this a great experience for yourself, your team and the audience.
