  1. Warm-Up: Go to Google Classroom and take the Google Form Titled, “Context Clues, CFA.” EQ: How do relationships shape us? I can:determine the meaning of unknown words and phrases in a text. (RI.6.4) I can: summarize a text with information from the text. (RI.6.2) I can:determine the central idea of a text and details that contribute to its development. (RI.6.2)

  2. 1. Let’s Review • Where did the story take place? • Who were the characters? • In a few words what was the story, “The Voice In My Head” about?

  3. What does it mean to summarize the text? Summarizing reduces a text to its main idea and necessary information. Summarizing is not the same as paraphrasing in that summary leaves out details and terms. Why is summarizing important? Summarizing helps you understand and learn important information by reducing information to its key ideas.
