Aim • To develop a clear understanding of effective planning in RERC at:- Whole school level- Class Level (Year)- Class level (Thematic)
Having faith in the curriculum • Bridge between ‘This is our faith’ and Cfe • Based on values and vision for Catholic Education • Three tier planning – One way of organising curriculum • Core learning is key • Assessment focused on overall outcome:Key core learning
What now? • Look at whole year planner – not all class based • Think of class / home / school / Parish • Fill in liturgical year • Think of main themes of year – based on existing knowledge • Plan for each term / month? • Add in experiences and outcomes and core learning? • Try and ensure coverage
In school? • Think about adding activities / resources • Start to plan for each theme using thematic planners • Share idea with colleagues • Ensure planner for each stage • Might want to think of how RERC can be used as a context for other learning. • Share across the schools
