  3. College Prep • Short Story/Non-fiction/Poetry thematic units • Grammar based on literature • Poetry • Novel: Night • Research Paper: Environmental Issue • Drama: Romeo & Juliet • Writing: narrative, expository, persuasive essays

  4. Honors • Short Story/Non-fiction/Poetry thematic units • Grammar based on literature • Poetry packet & reading • Novel: Night • Research Paper: Environmental Issue paper • Drama: Romeo and Juliet & The Miracle Worker • Independent Reading Novels: paper/project • Writing: narrative, expository, persuasive essays

  5. Class Rules • Be punctual • Be polite • Be prepared

  6. Please bring to class: • A pen or pencil • Notebook • A thumb drive (not necessary, but very helpful)

  7. Expectations • Students will do all assignments on time (late assignments can be turned in for ½ credit; major assignments turned in late will lose 10% per day late to 0 points) • Near the end of the marking period, there will be a cut-off date after which point NO late assignments will be accepted.
