Agenda for Friday, February 05 2010 • San Joaquin Delta College • 5151 Pacific Ave • Stockton, CA • I. Organizational items: • Call to order 1:15pm • Welcome and Introductions • Comments from the Public (3 min. max) • Xavier- ASBG has approved 3,000 in scholarships for AB540 deadline is April 16, 2010. • Luis C.- Workshop at 30 E. Acacia St. for wool from Oaxaca, Mexico in The Mexican Heritage Center. • Anthony Martinez- M.E.Ch.A national website is holding a blood drive on Cesar Chavez Day. • Jessica Vergara- Make sure to fill out census for 2010. • Yvonne- Delta Pride on Feb.11 will have games, free HIV/AIDS testing and free lubricants and condoms. • Approval of the Minutes • Approval of the Agenda • Motion by Co-Chair Estrada and seconded by Treasurer Estrada. • II. New business/discussion: • 1.High school Forum Feb 19, 2010 • Chair Carrasco discussed how the forum was moved into the evening due to issues concerning transportation. Co-Chair Estrada gave a breakdown of the monetary being used and the draft agenda for the event. Community Rep. Diaz is still researching the best prices for the food. Anthony Martinez discusses previous issues concerning the forum. Xavier motioned to approve $600 dollars for the event which will includes the food and edutatinment. Treasurer Estrada seconded. Motion passes by consensus. • 2. Marches on budget cuts overview • a) March 4th : Downtown Stockton to Delta College 4pm-8pm • Yvonne mentioned that it will take place at 4:15-4:30 the march starts from downtown to SJDC. Info on the march on the 22nd at the State Capitol will also be given out. Anthony Martinez motioned to participate in the March 4th march and to have a banner that represents M.E.Ch.A’s opinion that will cost no more than 40 dollars. Seconded by Treasurer Estrada. Motion passes by consensus.

  2. b)March 22nd : Capitol March •Secretary Cornejo motioned for M.E.Ch.A de San Joaquin Delta College chapter participate in the March 22nd march. Seconded by Community Rep. Diaz Motion passes by consensus. 3. Community Service a) Feb 5th : Stanislaus Campus in Stockton LGBT Carnival at 5 pm at 4. Oath of Office •Anthony Martinez gave out the Oath of Office to each officer. 5. Liaison meeting: Santa Cruz Feb. 13th at 11:00 am •Co-Chair Estrada motioned to spend no more $50 for the liaison meeting Seconded by Treasurer Estrada. Passed by consensus. 6. Regional Meeting: UCB Feb 20th 11:00am •Co-chair Estrada motions for no more than $40 to be spend on this regional. Seconded by Xavier. Passed by consensus.III. Old business/discussion: IV. ICC Meeting 1.Re-cap of ICC •Welcome day Feb 11, 2010 •Club Orientation Day Feb13, 2010 •Clubs Rush Week Feb. 22-26, 2010 •Clubs Night March 12, 2010V. Open forum 1. Movie Screening (Corazon del Tiempo and Los Zapatistas) by Luis Campos. •Xavier has motioned to show the movie in a forum during this semester, Seconded by Treasurer Estrada. Motion passed by consensus. •Xavier asked to have more info on AB540 scholarships next week. VI. Discussion (educational segment)VII. Comments from the Board VIII.
