Agenda Friday, March 12, 2010 • San Joaquin Delta College • 5151 Pacific Ave • Stockton, CA • I. Organizational items: • Call to order (1:07pm) • Welcome and Introductions • Comments from the Public (3 min. max) • Xavier: AB 540 Scholarship Conference on April 3rd in UCB. • Anthony Martinez motioned to suspended order of meeting until closed session is completed. Seconded by Co-Chair Estrada, Motion passed by consensus. • Approval of the Minutes: Weren’t available. • Approval of the Agenda • Motion by Secretary Cornejo, Seconded by Joseline Vasquez, Passed by consensus. • II. New business/discussion: • Closed Session: Chair Carrasco read the impeachment letter for Nicholas Aguirre. ICC Rep. Moreno gave a detailed explanation about the situation with the Regional. Co-Chair explained the situation with the Delta College Staff. There was a discussion of the things done and Mr. Aguirre also gave opinion on all subjects. Mr. Aguirre’s actions. Anthony Martinez motioned to impeach Nicholas Aguirre due to the reasons mentioned in the letter, Seconded by Secretary Cornejo, Motioned failed by Majority vote. With 3 abstains • Xavier Vazquez motioned to go back to order of the meeting, seconded by Co-Chair Estrada, Passed by consensus. • 2.Nominations: Chair Carrasco let everyone know that the positions available in the Mesa is Sergeant of Arms, Fund Raising Coordinator and Publicist. Our officers meeting is Mondays at 1:00pm and will not be changed. • Katherine Herrera nominated herself for publicist. Joseline Vasquez nominated Anthony Martinez for Sergeant of Arms. • III. Old business/discussion: • 1. Cesar Chavez Event March 25th/ April 14th: • Chair Carrasco explained how we are planning to do a celebration of Cesar Chavez but due to that on the official date we are in Spring Break we are doing it earlier. We are able to use the whole quad and do a fundraiser along with a timeline of the major events of Cesar Chavez along with his accomplishments. • Secretary Cornejo put everyone in 3 groups and each discussed about having the event only on one date either 3/25 or 4/14.

We would be selling tamales, rice and beans. Along with jarritos. Also the idea of making bracelets, fruit cups were mentioned but having been deicide upon. Xavier Vasquez motioned to spend no more than $400 for both March 25th and April 14th . On the expenses of food, publications, decorations and drinks for those dates, seconded by Secretary Cornejo, Passed by consensus. 2. Statewide Conference April 16th-18th Chair Carrasco explained that we need to know a definitely YES for those who are going by this upcoming Friday 3/19. Also that each member that is wanting to go will have to pay their registration which will be $7 since we are doing delegations. M.E.Ch.A. would be paying for lodging and gas only. Co-Chair Estrada motioned to spend no more than $750 on Statewide Conference in PCC April 16-19 this amount will cover the expenses of gas, hotel, and emergency funds if necessary, seconded by Martha Limon, passed by consensus. 3. Dates for Movie Screening Co-Chair Estrada mentioned the possible dates for the screening and mentioned that the pre-screening would be April 9th in classroom Shima 236. Secretary Cornejo motioned to have the movie screening on April 30th, seconded by Xavier Vasquez, passed by consensus. 4. NationalsMay 26th- May 29th Xavier discussed options for the Nationals. It was also discussed that we work on a ASBG Funding Request ASAP. Secretary Cornejo motioned to have a presentation and/or letter to present to ASBG for funding for our trip to National, seconded by Treasurer Estrada, Passed by consensus. VI.
