  2. Outline • Introduction • Why we need campus tour system(CTS) ? • Where can CTS be used ? • Related work • System Architectures • System Implementations • Outdoor • Indoor • The rules of indoor positioning • Demo • Conclusion

  3. Introduction/Why we need campus tour system(CTS) ? • Get lost in campus • Go to the destination directly • Save time for finding a path • …

  4. Introduction/Where can CTS be used? • CTS can be used in the whole campus even inside the building

  5. Related work • RSS(Received Signal Strength) algorithm

  6. System Architectures

  7. System Implementations/Outdoor • With GPS signal, the phone will obtain the latitude and longitude.

  8. System Implementations/Indoor BSSID

  9. System Implementations/Indoor • Our cell phone will receive the information about access points. • Use WLAN Scanning module. • BSSID: MAC address of the access point. • Rx_Level: Reception level in dBm .

  10. The rules of indoor positioning • Rule 1: Find out the five strongest Access Point to compare with the first database (DB1). • Rule 2: Use a heavy-weighted method.

  11. Example

  12. Example Part of DB1

  13. Example Floor 1

  14. Example signal strength Part of DB2

  15. Example 103

  16. Requirement of system Implementation • Hardware • Software
