Prewriting • Thinking – getting thoughts on paper
Planning / Outlining • Thesis statement, topic sentences, & main ideas in a rough outline • (you can and will make many changes!!)
Drafting • Use your outline to create sentences and paragraphs on your topic • Write as many awkward weird sentences as you want – just get the ideas on paper!
Peer Evaluations • We all need feedback! Structured feedback from your peers will improve your paragraphs and essays, and thus your grade! • On peer evaluation days, you’ll • bring 3 typed copies of yourbest draft!
Revising • Seeing your work with fresh eyes – focus on content and structure/organization – make big changes – add or delete ideas / support / details - put time between you and your paper – share your ideas again.
