Summary of DNOs' Preferred Smart Metering Tariffs Approach

This draft paper provides a high-level summary of Distribution Network Operators' (DNOs) preferred approach for SMART metering tariffs, interpreting Retail Market Review requirements and seeking Ofgem input. It proposes Half-Hourly (HH) site-specific tariffs for customers above a threshold and HH super-customer tariffs for customers below the threshold, with the threshold to be determined within PC5-8/CT metered categories. Time of Use is derived from HH data if available or network meter registers if not, assuming aggregated HH data will be made available to DNOs. Industry feedback is welcome.
