Communication • E-mail and Instant Messaging • Allows people to keep in touch, even over long distances. • Enables consumers to contact companies directly Chat Rooms • Lets users to meet people in their area or across the world • Allows users to meet people with similar interests, by creating special interest chat rooms.

  4. Computers Enhance Technology • Scientific Research • Computers organize data collected, making it easier for scientists access data, and focus on the research. • Computers are able to perform equations in a matter of seconds, making it a necessary tool for research.

Computers Aid in Learning • Website Browsing • One can learn more about any topic of interest simply by asking “Jeeves” or any other search engine. • Schoolwork • Students can access many sources without actually going to the library. • To get a book not at the local library students can e-mail another library and have the mailed to them.
