Simply put, every time a customer makes a purchase, they’re completing a point of sale transaction. • When running a retail store, you require a variety of administrative, management, and marketing professions. Along with that, it is more important to accomplish periodically sales reports and inventory. All these skills are present in POS which shows to be very important in running your store easily.

  3. Hardware components of a POS system: • These are the common physical components required to get your POS up and running. • Monitor/tablet: • Barcode Scanner • Credit Card Reader • Receipt Printer • Cash Drawer

  4. Monitor/Tablet: • This is a very significant device as it displays the product database and allows other functions. Like viewing employee clock-in and sales reports. Tablets especially iPads are popular means to replace larger monitors.

  5. Barcode Scanner: • It automates the checkout process. When the barcode is scanned, the product information is displayed on the monitor, and it is calculated for the entire checkout. Barcode scanners can also integrate with inventory management systems to automatically modify stock levels.
