Marquis De Lafayette • Was born September 6, 1757, in Chavaniac, France. • He was raised by the his mom and grandmother because his father died. • He went to the Collège du Plessis and the Versailles Academy, gaining military training and was recommended to be the lieutenant of the Musketeers of the Guard on April 9, 1771.

  3. Role in revolution • On December 1776, he met with an American agent Silas Deane and accepted an offer to enter the American service as a Major General. • He was a European Patriot, and he helped George Washington at valley forge.
