  2. By Leighton Seer These are some things Louisa May Alcott and I have in common: We both like to write, and are very creative and curious. And we both believe that if you dream it, you can achieve it!!! So go for it, no matter what anyone else thinks! Who is the real Louisa May Alcott?

  3. Facts about Louisa May Alcott! • Louisa May Alcott was very creative, and curious about the world. • She wrote great novels, a few being: Little Women, Little Men, Jo’s Boys. • She lived her dream though others thought she couldn’t

  4. Marie Curie and Me Marie Curie and I were both hard workers and we both enjoy science. We both worked hard to help others. I feel a strong connection to her because she was laughed at because of her beliefs, and I was too. By : Helen Gutowski

  5. About Her Marie Curie was born in Warsaw Poland on November 7, 1867. She was the first woman to go to the college the Sorbonne. She graduated first in her class. After she married she was the first person to win the Nobel Prize in 2 different subjects. Her only surviving child, Irene, continued her work when Marie Curie died in 1934 of leukemia. Irene also won a Nobel prize.

  7. Facts about Twain He was born two weeks after Halley’s Comet flew by. His real name was Samuel Clements. He had a very good sense of humor. He died on the same day as Halley’s Comet appeared once again.

  8. Osceola Mays, The Living Museum, and ME Hi. I’m Paula. I was Osceola Mays in the Living Museum.Osceola Mays is not too different from me. We both live in Texas, we both are alive,(OBVIOUSLY) and we both are open, honest, creative, and curious. Can you tell the difference?

  9. The Things You Have to Know Osceola Mays was born in the suburb of Waskom, TX. Her father was a share-cropper. In her childhood, her mother died. Osceola learned poems and eventually made up her own. Although she stopped writing,her poems still live on.

  12. Double Edith . Edith &I actually have a few things in common like we’re both kind of shy, and we share intelligence, and bravery. As you can see we are both very important people.

Not many people have heard of the great heroine , Edith Cavell, I guess because she didn’t play one of the biggest roles in history, but she was one of the elements.I’ll explain …she actually started out as a house keeper, but after taking care of her father she wanted to be a nurse. When the war started between Germany and the rest of the world, she started illegally nursing British soldiers and transferring them to Holland, to safety…finally caught and put to death. She was shy but, she made a great friend. Edith was also very fond of dogs, she had particularly befriended a dog she called Jack. A stray but her best friend as well. Do you know Edith better now?

  15. Facts about Michelangelo! Michelangelo was born March 6,1475 in Caprese,Italy. He tried his chances at chisel and the hammer when he was 6 years old.At the age of 13 he became an apprentice to a famous artist. When he was older he was asked by Pope Julius to paint the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel. He died on February 18,1564. He died while he was sleeping. He was the greatest artist who lived.

  17. For Your Information • Robert was born on 10-5-1882. • At a very young age he taught himself about electricity, physics, and chemistry. • He was one of the first people to think a bout space flight. • He dreamed about it in the fifth grade.

  19. Benjamin Franklin created the first library, fire department, police station, lightning rods, Franklin stove, and library chair. He also published the New England Current, and Pennsylvania Gazette. He was also Deputy Postmaster, Postmaster General, and the governor of Pennsylvania.

  20. leonardo Da vinci and me Leonardo Da Vinci and I have things in common. We like art, science, and math. Also we like to build things. It’s almost like were related but we’re not.

  21. My name is Leonardo Da Vinci. I was born in a small Italian town of Vinci in April 14 1452. I kept the name of my town as my own last name.When I was little I drew pictures of many things. I was born when people all over Europe liked art. This time was called the Renaissance. I became famous for many other things than art. I was a sculptor,musician,architect, scientist, and a mathematician.I built bridges, beautiful churches, and even whole cities. I wrote my notes backwards so no one could read them also I wrote my notes backwards because I was left handed so it was easier to write. My most famous painting was the Mona Lisa and were ever you stand to look at her she looks back at you.I used nature and science to make my paintings look real. I lived to be 72 years old and I died in the arms of the king of France in 1524.

  23. Amelia Earhart • Amelia, an airplane flyer, was a very famous person. She was famous for flying at different heights,speeds,and flying from different places to another. She was the first woman to make a transatlantic flight. She broke lots of records by flying from Hawaii to the north American mainland. She got to do lots of great things while she wasn’t flying, like getting lots of awards ,until she crashed in the Atlantic ocean.

Interesting Facts About Walt Disney • Walt Disney learned how to say all of his family member’s names when he was 3 years old. • He started drawing when he was 6 years old but no one in his family could afford to put him in drawing school yet. • Something I think you should know about Walt Disney is that he started his own business when he was only 22 years old.

  29. Laura Ingalls Wilder Laura Ingalls Wilder was born February 7, 1867. She lived in the state of Wisconsin. She was an author she wrote a whole series of books she was very popular in the 1950’s. She had a girl named Rose. In the year 1959 she died of a heart attack.

  33. Important Facts • Helen Keller was deaf and blind. • Her teacher helped her throughout years • Her teacher’s name is Anne Sullivan. • Helen wrote books. • She worked for the American Foundation for the Blind when she was 44.

  34. Rachel Carson and Me I think Rachel Carson and I are very much alike because we both enjoy the same things, like bird watching, looking after animals, gazing into the ocean, writing, reading. We both enjoy science and biology. We were very much the same in many ways. By: Vincenza Pappano 

  35. About Rachel Carson Rachel Carson was born May 27, 1907. She was the first woman scientist. She loved the ocean and nature. She was responsible for starting the nature movement and the clean up of the oceans. In 1957 Rachel Carson discovered that a chemical DDT used to kill bugs was deadly and was killing animals. She died of cancer in 1964. A service was held for her at the Washington Cathedral. Senators and congressmen were there to honor her as well as many people who just knew here through her books.

Susan’s facts • The whole reason she struggled with equality was because her own father told her she couldn't do all the work that guys do • When she was arrested she didn’t pay her fine and never did • The 19th amendment wasn't created until AFTER her death • She and her friend Elizabeth Caddy Station created the Women’s Suffrage Association in 1861
