  1. Workshop on reporting obligations in the water acquis communautaire – Draft River Basin Management Plan & WISE

  2. Reporting AspectsWISE, EIONET, Reportnet, etc.Remarks AT Harald Marent

  3. AT – Position / Perspectives WISE Technical aspects Presentation aspects EIONET / Reportnet INSPIRE SEIS

  4. WISE (1) two different aspects “Technical” aspect and “Presentation/Illustration” aspects Technical aspect Use of Reportnet tools “Data harvesting” – new principle, not covered in Directives Need for exact definition of data needs! No interface possible between MS and EC/EEA to harvest background Databases EC/EEA should develop tools and share with MS

  5. WISE (2) Presentation aspects Tailor made information on EC and MS level Not everything (e.g. very detailed data) is relevant for EC level presentation Agreement on EC level for Water: Presentation of the river network with more than 500 km2 as a water graph River network < 500 km2 as centroids (for statistic use)

  6. EIONET / Reportnet Principles are OK EIONET very good, especially for “real time” data (Air, Ozone, etc.) Water data – in general no significant changes during a period, average reporting interval for WFD – 3 years Reportnet tools good Problem in Water reporting: Need for a very detailed data requests At the moment not given (e.g. WFD) Development of content and data very difficult and tome consumptive

  7. INSPIRE Principles are OK For AT – basic for a technical harmonisation in defined policies (e.g. Water, Mapping, etc.) No basic for a mandatory data transfer (content) Principles of Services OK; With Services (Portal, Search tools, download services, presentation services, etc.) – information of data in defined policies must be given (Metadata) but data transfer is not automatically requested. Pricing of data transfer possible

  8. SEIS Logic next step after INSPIRE Principles are OK For AT – basic for the transfer / sharing of content Need for a Legal basic on EC Level (Directive etc.) Sharing information is OK but - sharing the same information is important (quality aspect) Examples:
