  4. Why Is Organic Chemistry Important? Organic chemistry is important because it is the study of life andall of the chemical reactions related to life. Several careersapply an understanding of organic chemistry, such as doctors, veterinarians, dentists, pharmacologists, chemical engineers, and chemists. Organic chemistry plays a part in the development of common household chemicals, foods, plastics, drugs, fuels... really most of the chemicals part of daily life

  5. Organicchemistry Is the study of carbon compounds Carbon atoms can be bonded to each other to form chains as in open-chain (acyclic compounds) or to form rings as in (cyclic compounds)

  6. Course content 1-Classification and nomenclature of organic compound 2-Chemical bonds 3-Alkanes (-C-H-, and -C-C-) 4-Alkenes c=c 5-Alkynes 6-Alcohols &ether & phenols R-OH & R-O-R &

  7. 7-Aldehyde & Ketones 8-Amines & Sulphonic acid 9-Carboxylic acids & Their derivatives
