During the first phase, the current passes from one electrode to the other and in the next phase the current overturns & flows in just opposite direction lowering the electric verge. Mono-phasic defibrillators: In this machine, the electrical rhythms are sent from a single electrode to the other and in a single direction. A patient suffering from V-Fib needs to get AED trainer in order to be able to operate the defibrillator on their own.
