  1. Elizabeth Farmer’s Market 2014

  2. Mission: • To provide a friendly, convenient, and reliable direct-marketing connection between customers and growers for reasonably-priced Jo Daviess County homegrown, homemade, and handmade items. • Our growers include life-long residents and fold who are new to the area. Although a few customers are one-time shoppers from the highway, the overwhelming majority of customers are regulars we look forward to visiting with each week.

  3. Where and When: • All Fridays starting May 2 – October 31 • Rain, snow or shine! • Setup: after 2:00 • Market: 3 – 6 • Teardown by: 6:30 • St. Paul’s Lutheran Church Parking Lot • 411 W. Catlin Elizabeth, IL 61028

  4. Membership: • $20 once a year thank you donation to St. Paul Lutheran Church • Non-refundable (no partials either) • Check, money order, or cashier’s check made payable St. Paul Lutheran Church, cash is also acceptable. • Give this to Jonna on the first day of the market. • We would like to build a website as well as keep our Facebook page updated… • https://www.facebook.com/elizabethfarmersmarket • Please forward any information about your business/stand to Jonna @ • jmstayn@yahoo.com • Or message on Facebook • Please include: Name, address, phone number and email.

  5. Set-up: • There is no assigned parking. Unless otherwise directed, we will first occupy the west side of the church parking lot, keeping the first line pulled west into the grass so as not to block street access, highway access, or the lower entry of the parking lot. • We want to keep customers moving from vendor to vendor down the line, rather than encouraging customers to skip or cut corners. So fill in the line so there are no gaps. • If all slots on the west side of the parking lot are occupied, begin filling the sidewalk side of the lot, but do not block the lower driveway or the entrance to the church. The third line will be along Hwy 20, starting at the church marquee and going east. The fourth line is the east side of the parking lot, leaving entrances at both ends for cards to enter and exit. • The market is set up so you can sell from the back of your vehicle, please keep display approximately the width of your vehicle so there is walking room from you and the people next to you.

  6. Additional Location Information: • There is NO bathroom, use of electricity, water, open fires, or use of cooking grills. • One time set-ups are permitted but discouraged, we want regular vendors to encourage regular patrons. • All vendors are responsible for picking up any greens, litter, paper, garbage, etc., in their area before leaving.

  7. Vendor Responsibilities: • Each vendor is responsible for their own booth. • No insurance is associated with the market or church. • You may want to consider liability insurance for your market activities. • Abide by all federal, state, and municipal laws, rules, and regulations. • Contact the Jo Daviess County Health Department to find out what is necessary for you to do business at the Farmer’s Market. • 815-777-0263 • www.jodaviess.org • Environmental Health Division • environmentalhealth@jodaviess.org • Also refer to http://web.extension.illinois.edu/cottage/
