  7. BIOWASTE Why a biowaste Directive? • help MSs fulfil the diversion targets of the Landfill Directive • be consistent with EC’s Communication on TS on Soil • be consistent with EC’s Communication on TS on Resources • help achieve the goals of the EU Climate Change Programme

  8. BIOWASTE COALITION POSITION: • Need for a Directive with a strategic appraoch • Quality standards alone are not enough • Directive should include drivers  targets
