  2. 700XA Hardware OverviewGoals • Know the electronic section components and layout • Understand communication options and connections • Be familiar with the analytical section

  3. 700XA Hardware OverviewEnclosure • Single-cast design for easier installation • Explosion proof (2 versions) • CSA (Class I Division 1, Grps B,C & D) • ATEX/IEC-Ex (II 2G Ex d IIC Gb T6) • Robust ambient temperature range -20°C to 60°C (-4°F to 140°F) • Side access for easier installation and maintenance • Dimensions • 28”h x 17.5”w x 19.6”d (Wall Mount) • 110 lbs • Wall/Pole/Floor Mountable

  4. 700XA Hardware OverviewElectronic Section • Simplified electronics • 7 processing and connection boards • Up to 12 in the M700 (8 in lower section, 4 in the upper) • Plug-and-Play boards are easier to add and remove • Increased stream handling capability (up to 20) • Communication expandability

  5. 700XA Hardware OverviewCommunications • Standard • 6 Isolated AOs & 2 AIs • 5 DI & 5 DO • 3 Serial Ports (freely configurable) • 2 Ethernet ports • Options • FOUNDATION fieldbus • 2 Serial ports • 8 isolated AOs, more…

  6. 700XA Hardware OverviewAnalytical Oven • Integral heat sink oven provides constant temperature (better than ± 0.1°C) and contains: • XA Analytical valves • Capillary and micro-packed columns • Multiple detector options: • TCD/TCD • TCD/FID • TCD/FPD (external detector) • Airless- No instrument air required • Proven reliable performance in environments ranging from -20 to 60°C • NO PROCESSING BOARDS!

  7. 700XA Hardware OverviewAnalytical Oven - Valves • New “XA” Valves • Smaller, more analytically reliable valve design • Less carrier and valve actuation gas required • 6 and 10 port configurations • Sample does not come in contact with internal moving parts • Over 5 million operations per valve • Lifetime warranty on diaphragm valves • Diaphragm replacement takes <10 minutes

  8. 700XA Hardware OverviewAnalytical Oven - Columns • Larger column housing • Supports capillary columns • Customer Benefits: • Separation of more complex components • Faster cycle times

  9. 700XA Hardware OverviewAnalytical Oven – Detectors • Combining proven successful thermistor bead detectors and new electronics results in stronger performance • 0-30 ppm H2S with detection limit approaching ppb level • Repeatabilities on natural gas analysis of better than +/- 0.10 / 1030 BTU in controlled environments • Dual Detectors • Redesigned FID

  10. 700XA Hardware OverviewAnalytical Oven – Heating • Heat from inside and outside • Better temperature stability

  11. 700XA Hardware OverviewAnalytical Oven – Open Space • Room to incorporate LSIV • Pressure Switches • Stream selection solenoids • EPCs (future) • Future detectors??

  12. 700XA Hardware OverviewSummary • Smaller footprint, with more hardware capacity • More analytical capabilities • Easier Maintenance • Better performance • No processing boards in the analytical section
