  1. 14 Points/The Treaty of Versailles President Woodrow Wilson drafts his Fourteen points. The Germans agree to the terms outlined and surrender. Eventually the British, French, and Italians sign off on the points as well. At the Paris Peace conference however, President Wilson grows incredibly ill and therefore unable to be a part of the continuing peace negotiations. French Prime Minister, George Clemenceau then becomes the head of peace negotiations and completely changes the direction of the peace negotiations. His primary goal is to punish the Germans almost wholly for World War I. Is Wilson’s Fourteen Points an example of cooperation? Is the Treaty of Versailles an example of cooperation?

  2. Kyoto Protocol The Kyoto Protocol is an international agreement between the world’s leading greenhouse gas emitters to cut their emissions by a non-significant amount. Since the leaders of the developed world are behind the formation of the Kyoto Protocol, they have simply passed the Kyoto Protocol as propaganda, so it appears they are trying to address the problem of global climate change. Is this an example of cooperation?

  3. Iran Agrees to Grant UN Inspectors More Power Iran, a country located in the Middle East, is rapidly developing their nuclear technology. Because the United Nations is fearful of what the Iranians may do with their new technology, they have pursued inspection opportunities for several years. Just recently the Iranians agreed to grant the UN more inspection power at their plant in Arak – a key water facility. This will limit Iranian ability to develop certain kinds of nuclear technology/reactors at one of the key research and development centers in the country. Is this an example of cooperation?

  4. A Missionary Leads a Starving Boy to Food A missionary discovers a starving African boy in the town that he is working in. He introduces himself to the young boy as the boy places his hand in the missionary’s hand. The missionary leads the boy to a resource outpost where there is food. The boy who had not eaten in several days feels grateful to the man. The man’s heart is filled with joy, knowing that he helped someone who is not as fortunate as him. Is this an example of cooperation?
